Our vision

“Our vision is to develop well rounded, confident and responsible individuals who aspire to achieve their full potential. We will do this by providing a welcoming, happy, safe and supportive learning environment in which everyone is equal and all achievements are celebrated. Each student is to develop curiosity of learning, discover their interests and grow in their love of learning.”

Welcome from our principal

Principal Mr M.L Tshungu

I believe that excellence in education is aided by creating a learning environment in which all learners are supported in maximizing their potential and talents. Education needs to focus on personalized learning and instruction, while promoting an education system that is impartial, universally accessible, and meeting the needs of all students.

I believe that we are all interconnected. All children deserve the opportunity to reach toward their full potential, to discover their unique voice and to contribute to the making of a better world. Education is the vehicle by which together, we can create a just society where all are valued, respected, and encouraged to be the best that they can be. Our mission statement continually provides direction for our school.

At “Motswedi Secondary School”, our focus is on the holistic needs of our students. I believe in holding high expectations for students and staff, and in acknowledging those achievements. Our challenge is in molding our learners to become life-long, responsible, and independent citizens. We strive to do this by offering – a safe, supportive and cooperative place of learning, to celebrate our diversity and develop a climate of respect, to encourage students to continuously strive for their personal best and to teach an academically challenging curriculum. I believe in leading the school community to embrace sound academic change. Our parent community is an equally important part of the success of our students and school.

Learn about the covid-19 global pandemic

A coronavirus is a kind of common virus that causes an infection in your nose, sinuses, or upper throat. Most coronaviruses aren’t dangerous. In early 2020, after a December 2019 outbreak in China, the World Health Organization identified SARS-CoV-2 as a new type of coronavirus. The outbreak quickly spread around the world. COVID-19 is a disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 that can trigger what doctors call a respiratory tract infection. It can affect your upper respiratory tract (sinuses, nose, and throat) or lower respiratory tract (windpipe and lungs).

It spreads the same way other coronaviruses do, mainly through person-to-person contact. Infections range from mild to deadly. SARS-CoV-2 is one of seven types of coronavirus, including the ones that cause severe diseases like Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) and sudden acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). The other coronaviruses cause most of the colds that affect us during the year but aren’t a serious threat for otherwise healthy people.
